I have just heard that Smiling Hussy – my horse here in South Australia trained by Leon Macdonald – is scheduled to have her first trial on Monday April 20. How exciting! Needless to say I will be doing everything I can to get there!

Chief Red Cloud ran 3rd again at Cranbourne today. The track was again a Slow 7, and only 4 horses started. Chief jumped well settling in 2nd place, but lost position just before the home straight. I have just received the details of Chief Red Cloud’s next race start at Cranbourne on Sunday 5 April. He is No.1 in Race 1, the “Ritchies Community Benefits SV 2YO Maiden Plate” over 1300m. There are 5 acceptors for the race, and Chris Symons has been booked for the ride. “Chief” will start from Barrier No. 3.
